A contemporary bathroom designed by Ana Donohue Interiors was recently featured on Tropic: Florida Living & Design! The article explores a variety of bathroom designs that each convey a unique, contemporary sense of style. Our bathroom design is the 4th  down, “The Pragmatist.”

White marble and pale blue glass tiles combine to form a crisp, clean space that feels cool as water. The barn-style shower door helps the typical glass-and-stainless-steel combination seem fresh and unexpected.

A floating vanity and toilet also help this bathroom feel incredibly spacious and light. If you are considering undertaking a contemporary bathroom remodeling project, we highly recommend a floating vanity, which greatly contributes to the sleek, modern aesthetic that is so popular these days.

When designing a contemporary bathroom, keep your color palette simple and limit the visual clutter, focusing on clean lines and adding interest through materials and their juxtaposition. Keep in mind that contemporary bathrooms can easily feel too cold and utilitarian. You can avoid such a result by including a luxurious material, like the marble tiles above, which add warmth and character to the space.

Your “Pragmatist” bathroom design is absolutely fantastic. I especially like your pale blue glass tile choice and the stacked pattern they are set in. I’m curious…what size tile are they?
